Alfred Loreto undergoes successful surgery as UST appeals for support

University of Santo Tomas began its UAAP Season 87 High School Boys’ Basketball campaign with a loss to National University Nazareth School last Sunday.

However, their biggest victory of the day happened off the court.

Big man Alfred Loreto underwent successful surgery to remove a pituitary macroadenoma (brain tumor) during the game.

While the operation was a success and his doctors are optimistic about his full recovery, Loreto now faces an even greater challenge.

The financial demands of his medical treatment and recovery pose a significant burden.

To ensure Loreto can return to being the dedicated student-athlete he is, UST appeals to the Thomasian community and beyond for support.

Donations to help Loreto for his recovery can be sent through the Tiger Cubs team manager Jarvis Co’s Metrobank (current account): 4817-4819-0902-0.

Every contribution, big or small, will make a meaningful difference in Loreto’s journey to recovery.
