Pampanga goes for a 2-0 lead in the NBL Season 3 Black Arrow Express-President’s Cup when the Delta clash with the La Union PAOwer on Saturday at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center in San Fernando, Pampanga.
The Delta and the PAOwer are scheduled to play Game Two at 6 p.m. inside the NBL bubble.
Pampanga drew first blood of the best-of-five championship series. It took an 88-83 win over La Union on Thursday night, with Levi Hernandez leading the way for the Delta.
The Mexico, Pampanga native scored 24 points including 17 in the fourth after the Delta trailed, 59-58, at the end of the third quarter.
Pampanga team manager Alan Trinidad said the coaching staff is still looking for more team play heading into Game 2.
“On our part, we were disappointed with their play especially to our holdovers. They were thinking about the new players. I also told the new players that what we need is teamwork,” said Pampanga team manager Alan Trinidad.
La Union nearly stunned Pampanga inside the bubble after Erven Silverie led the PAOwer’s comeback. He scored a game-high 29 points in the Game 1 defeat.
PAOwer head coach Louie Aquino and his wards will regroup, gaining even more confidence from Game 1 even in defeat.
