University of Santo Tomas will maintain an all-Filipino lineup for the remainder of UAAP Season 86.
Well, the Growling Tigers have been doing so for almost the entire season already.
Adama Faye is set to depart the country anytime soon, choosing to recover from his back injury in his home country of Senegal rather than staying.
Multiple sources closely monitoring the situation have confirmed this development to Tiebreaker Times.
Faye, who is 24 years old and was a transferee from National University, was expected to be the anchor for the Growling Tigers this season.
He averaged 11.38 points, 12.23 rebounds, and 2.15 blocks per game in Season 85.
However, disaster struck Faye and UST a few weeks before the season began when the 6-foot-8 big man suffered a back injury.
Faye attempted to push through the pain, playing in two games this season — one against the University of the East on September 30 and the other against De La Salle University on October 7.
He only played a total of 11 minutes this season.
Currently, UST, with a 1-8 record in the season, still has games against Adamson, Ateneo, National U, the University of the Philippines, and Far Eastern U in that order on their schedule.
