2019 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers

60 seconds with SMART Gilas Pilipinas’ Calvin Abueva

With just a few hours until SMART Gilas Pilipinas hosts Chinese-Taipei in its first home stand in the 2019 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers, let’s get to know the heart and soul of the team Calvin Abueva.

Abueva, who hadn’t made the team a few years ago, worked tirelessly to show that he is deserving of a spot. Now that he is here, The Beast has taken up the mantle left by Marc Pingris.

In this 60 seconder, he shares that Raymond Almazan is his best teammate and even showed off his rock ‘n roll voice.

Don’t forget to catch SMART Gilas Pilipinas’ game against Chinese-Taipei either by heading to the SMART-Araneta Coliseum or watching the game live at ESPN5. The game is set to tip off at 7:30pm.
