UST scores upset win over FEU

The University of Santo Tomas Tiger Spikers wielded the upset axe in emphatic fashion, taking care of the Far Eastern University Tamaraws in three-straight-sets, 25-19, 25-13, 25-20, in the Premier Volleyball League Men’s Collegiate Conference at the Filoil Flying V Centre.

The Odjie Mamon-mentored Tigers squad, who secured the first in lopsided manner, kept their momentum rolling in the ensuing set, leading by as much as 11 courtesy of a 12-1 headstart.

In the decisive third set, the España-based squad further buried the hapless Tamaraws in a 22-15 mire en route to their first victory.

Due to a stellar performance, Mamon lauded his wards for playing in high spirits from start to finish.

“Mataas ‘yung morale nung bago [players], tsaka nung mga senior,” the UST lifer said. “Naka-integrate -yung bagong players.”
