Celine Domingo tows FEU past San Beda

UAAP Season 80 Best Blocker Celine Domingo cobbled together a career game and lifted the Far Eastern University Lady Tamaraws over the San Beda University Lady Red Spikers, 25-16, 21-25, 25-19, 25-22, in the Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference at the FilOil Flying V Centre.

The fleet-footed Domingo tallied 22 points off 15 attacks, four blocks, and three aces.

Among his agenda for the tournament, getting the middle blockers like Domingo involved in the offense is FEU head coach George Pascua’s top priority.

“Sinusubukan talaga namin na mabuo ‘yung connection ng mga middle at setter,” said Pascua, who emphasized his team’s rebuilding state after star Bernadeth Pons exhausted her collegiate playing eligibility.

“Importante na ma-establish namin ‘yung chemistry namin kasi nga may mga bago kaming players na ginagamit,” the former FEU Tamaraw furthered.

Rookie Lycha Ebon added 10 markers for FEU while Jerrili Malabanan managed nine points.

FEU (2-0) faces San Sebastian College-Recoletos (0-1) on Saturday at the same venue.

The Viray twins topped the Lady Red Spikers with Nieza tallying 17 points and Jiezela adding 12.
