University of the Philippines is now crossing its fingers as one of its stars suffered a scary injury.
Zavier Lucero had to be carried out by the Fighting Maroons’ staff after his knee buckled early in the final frame of Game Two of the UAAP Season 85 Men’s Basketball Finals, Wednesday at the SMART Araneta Coliseum.
Down 59-44, the graduating senior tried to attack the basket.
However, as Lucero was going down, his left knee could not get a proper plant, resulting in a tough-to-watch fall.
According to UP courtside reporter Carla Elizalga, Lucero heard “a crack” as he fell.
Lucero got six points and 11 rebounds before the incident.
Lucero tallied 14 points, 11 rebounds, two assists, and two blocks back in Game One.
