It’s all fun and games on the hardcourt until it gets personal.
During Game One of the NCAA Season 98 Seniors Basketball Finals, Saint Benilde’s ace big man Will Gozum was not just on the receiving end of being “groped” by Letran junior Paolo Javillonar.
Gozum also received some rubbish talk from Javillonar that got a little bit too personal.
The perennial MVP though did not divulge what it was about after their 81-75 loss on Sunday.
“Meron times na in game… I don’t know ah. Magsasabi siya sa akin ng kung ano-ano,” said Gozum, who had 18 points and 11 rebounds in the game.
Gozum’s girlfriend Karla Manuel though went to social media to share the hurtful words Javillonar told his partner.
Though she did not go into graphic detail, the University of Santo Tomas product said that it was about her.
“Since elims (Round 1), yan na role niyan,” read Manuel’s post.
“Pero yung idadamay mo girlfriend ng player sa pangtra-trashtalk tapos babastusin mo? First time [to hear that] from a player.”
Manuel is also a professional basketball player who previously played for WNBL club Taguig.
Javillonar would downplay his antics, later on, saying that it was just his way of psyching out Gozum.
“Alam na ni Will yan [na] kulitan lang namin. Mind games lang, mind games,” said Javillonar, who played for Saint Benilde during the off-season of 2019 before committing to Letran.
Game Two of the best-of-three Finals is on Sunday still at the SMART Araneta Coliseum.
