Wilkerson leaves venue immediately after SMB loss; Beermen have no comment

The San Miguel Beermen have no comment on import Tyler Wilkerson’s early departure after the team lost to Rain or Shine, 98-96 in Game 2 of their PBA Commissioner’s Cup semifinals series Tuesday night.

Wilkerson, who finished with 35 points, 18 rebounds, and five assists in a losing effort, dressed up shortly after the Elasto Painters’ victory and immediately left the venue even before Beermen’s post-game talk even began.

Witnesses claim Wilkerson said “take me back to America” before leaving the venue.

Beermen head coach Leo Austria requested not to be interviewed regarding the matter.

The Elasto Painters banked on the 16 points of Jericho Cruz and the double-double of import Pierre Henderson-Niles (15 points, 18 rebounds) in the win.

Such development came at an unfortunate time for the Beermen, as Rain or Shine is now a win away from the finals. Game Three is on Thursday at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.
