For someone who should be more familiar with the triangle offense, LA Tenorio should be the most consistent player.
Yet, he’s been struggling big time and Barangay Ginebra has lost its last two games. A team loaded with stars, Tenorio need not score that much for the Gin Kings. What the team needs from him is his stability in setting order in running the plays, but watching Tenorio the past two games has been an eye sore.
In the Gin Kings’ game against the San Miguel Beermen, Tenorio committed five turnovers and failed to come up with a single assist. Against the Meralco Bolts on Friday, Tenorio struggled anew, scoring only four points. So what’s been bugging the team captain?
“Medyo nawawala lang talaga ako. Marami lang iniisip. A lot of things are coming in and out of my mind. Medyo confused lang,” said Tenorio in an interview with media after the game.
Confused with what?
“We’re still not at the level where we want to be. But I’m taking the blame. Being the leader of the team, I’m taking full responsibility for the last two losses,” added Tenorio.
With a long break ahead, Tenorio will use the time to refresh himself and hopefully help the team be better.
“Good thing is we have nine days before we play. I think we can improve. We just have to be focused and be ready,” he added.
