VisMin: Iloka, Doligon power Zambo Peninsula past Valientes in prelude to finale

The Mayor Vitaliano Agan Coliseum in the Philippines was filled with excitement and anticipation as Zamboanga Peninsula team faced off against its crosstown rivals, the Zamboanga Valientes, in the VismIn Super Cup Invitational tournament on Thursday.

Fans were on the edge of their seats as they witnessed an intense battle between the two teams, with ZamPen ultimately emerging victorious with a score of 92-90.

The game was dominated by Henry Iloka, who put on an impressive display of skill and athleticism. Iloka, a former Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3×3 star, stepped up to the challenge and scored 27 points, 16 rebounds, and three steals for ZamPen.

However, it was Mark Doligon’s heroics that sealed the victory for ZamPen. The veteran from the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League made a crucial floater in the final 18 seconds of the game, breaking the deadlock and securing the win for his team.

This was not the first time ZamPen had defeated their rivals in the tournament.

In the previous season, they also emerged victorious over the Valientes.

With this win, ZamPen and Zamboanga will face off in the finale on Friday.

In the other game of the tournament, Cagayan de Oro outplayed Misamis Oriental with a score of 83-75. Jerrick Caneta played an outstanding game, contributing 20 points, five rebounds, and 11 assists.
