Vaguardia takes over Phoenix; Forrester-Wilson switch teams

The Phoenix Fuel Masters have replaced head coach Koi Banal for ASEAN Basketball League champion coach Ariel Vanguardia.

In a report by Inquirer.net, the team’s governor has confirmed the coaching switch. In addition, Vanguardia will still coach the Blustar Detergent Dragons in the PBA D-League.

The NLEX Road Warriors also acquired wing man James Forrester from the Phoenix Fuel Masters in exchange for John Wilson, the PBA approved on Tuesday.

Forrester played in only three games for the Fuel Masters in the 2016 Commissioner’s Cup, tallying a total of six points in 16 minutes.

Wilson, meanwhile, spent most of his time on the reserve list in the past conference, and suited up in just one game for the Road Warriors.

Forrester is the second wing man acquired by the Road Warriors from the Fuel Masters in a span of less than a month.

Earlier this month, NLEX sent Mark Borboran and Simon Enciso to Phoenix for Mac Baracael, Emman Monfort, and a 2018 second rounder.
