V-League: Ramirez drops 28 vs Arellano, tows Perpetual to semis clash vs NU

Reigning NCAA champion University of Perpetual Help System DALTA arranged a semifinals clash with defending UAAP titlist National University after beating Arellano University in four sets, 26-28, 25-20, 25-21, 25-16, in the quarterfinals of the 2022 V-League Men’s Collegiate Challenge, Wednesday at the Paco Arena.

Louie Ramirez erupted for 28 big points in 25 attacks, two kill blocks, and an ace for the Altas.

Hero Austria turned in 17 points and 11 excellent receptions while Michael Medalla added 10 markers.

John Enarciso tossed 23 excellent sets to go along with three points while John Philip Pepito collected 25 excellent receptions and 11 excellent digs.

“Of course, i’m happy pasok na kami but then sad ng konti kasi yung tini-train namin during training namin hindi na apply because I told them na yung physical, ‘wag na nating ibilang yun. Kailangan yung emotions at psychological sometimes kasi nakikita ko na nadi-distract sila sa sarili nila,” said Perpetual head coach Sammy Acaylar.

“That is why sabi ko kanina they have to focus sa ginagawa nila and apply lang nila yung ginagawa nila sa training at ‘wag nila paigsiin yung utak nila. Palawakin nila para maintindihan nilang lahat,” he added.

Carl Berdal took charge for the Chiefs with 18 points on top of seven excellent receptions while Arman Guinto had 13 points.

The Perpetual-NU semis clash will be on November 23, Wednesday at 3:00 PM while Arellano will take on San Beda University in the classification phase earlier that day at 10:00 AM.
