V-League: Ramirez, Austria tow Perpetual past Ateneo, top of Pool B

University of Perpetual Help System DALTA remained unbeaten, handing Ateneo de Manila University its first loss, 22-25, 25-19, 25-22, 25-22, in the 2022 V-League Men’s Collegiate Challenge, Sunday at the Paco Arena.

Louie Ramirez dropped 23 points built on 22 attacks and a block to push the Altas to a 3-0 standing in Pool B while Hero Austria had an all-around performance of 15 points, 14 excellent receptions, and six excellent digs.

“It’s a nice game. Ang pinaghahandaan kasi namin yung laro naman na nacancel so yesterday pinaghandaan namin yung strengths nila and weakness nila so it’s a great game kasi Ateneo is not just any team. Magaling talaga sila,” Perpetual head coach Sammy Acaylar said.

“Marami kaming nakuha sa kanila na experience and my team naman talaga is my heart kasi of course, we are the champions of the NCAA kaya it’s a great game,” he added.

Kennedy Batas fired 15 points while Abai Llenos added 13 markers and eight excellent digs as the Blue Eagles fell to 3-1.

Perpetual looks to sweep Pool B when they take on San Beda University on Friday at 1:00 PM while Ateneo goes up against University of the Philippines on Sunday, 3:00 PM.
