V-League: NU makes quick work of Adamson, closes in on semis

National University cruised past Adamson University in just three sets, 25-17, 25-22, 25-21, to notch its fourth consecutive win in Pool A of the 2022 V-League Men’s Collegiate Challenge at the Paco Arena, Sunday.

Kennry Malinis paced the 4-0 Bulldogs with 13 points while rookie Michael Buddin added 12 markers on nine attacks and three kill blocks.

Joshua Retamar had 15 excellent sets to go along with five points off four blocks to help NU finish the match in just an hour and 25 minutes.

Well, syempre panalo kami maganda naman yung naging performance namin. Pero yun nga, may mga hinahanap pa talaga ako this game na kailangan kong i-maximize pa kasi medyo mabigat yung last game namin against Arellano,” said Bulldogs head coach Dante Alinsunurin.

“Medyo nacorrect naman yung mga naging problema namin sa Arellano ngayon pero may hinahanap pa talaga ako para mas maging maganda yung performance,” he added.

Ned Pacquing was the lone double-digit scorer for the Soaring Falcons with 10 while Francis Casas and JM Tropia had six and four points, respectively.

Adamson dropped its second consecutive game to go down to 1-2.

NU looks to sweep the elimination round against De La Salle University on Wednesday, 1:00 PM while Adamson will return on Friday against University of Sto. Tomas at 10:00 AM.
