V-League: Lalongisip, Adamson rip San Sebastian for win no. 2

Adamson University overcame a seven-point deficit in the third set to complete its sweep of San Sebastian College-Recoletos, 25-13, 25-11, 25-22, in the 2022 V-League Women’s Collegiate Challenge, Wednesday at the Paco Arena.

Rochelle Lalongisip helped the Lady Falcons improve their slate to 2-0 in Pool A after finishing with 13 points on nine attacks, three service aces, and one kill block on top of 10 excellent receptions and eight digs in just one hour and eight minutes of game time.

“Naa-appreciate namin yung efforts nung second team, sila yung binabad. Siguro dahil na rin siksik yung schedule namin kasi Friday to Sunday three straight games. Malaking bagay na kapag pinasok yung second team, makaka-contribute pa rin,” said Adamson assistant coach Rald Ricafort.

“Inapply lang nila, sa training din ganun yung ginagawa nila so para lang din ma-test yung more on sa mental kung paano nila ire-recover yung errors or kapag naunahan sila ng lamang ng kalaban,” he added.

The Lady Falcons were down by as much as seven points, 12-19, before unleashing a 13-3 blast to steal the third set and finish the game. Lalongisip scored four points in that run while Trisha Tubu and Antonnette Adolfo put on the finishing touches.

Kath Santos paced the Lady Stags (0-2) with 11 points while Kristine Dionisio and Kamille Tan had six markers each.

Adamson looks to sweep the group stage when they take on Ateneo de Manila University on Friday at 3:00 PM while San Sebastian eyes its first win against Far Eastern University earlier that day at 10:00 AM.
