University of Santo Tomas remained as the only undefeated team in the UAAP Season 82 High School Boys’ Beach Volleyball Tournament after defeating Ateneo High School, Sunday at SM Sands by the Bay.
In a battle between the two remaining unblemished squads, Junior Tiger Spikers’ Jay Rack dela Noche and Alexander Iraya took a 21-14, 21-11 win over Ateneo’s Giulian San Juan and Mikka Mendoza.
In other boys matches, FEU’s Jelord Talisayan and Carl Cabatac rediscovered its winning form by outlasting De La Salle-Zobel’s Andre Espejo and John Lituania, 23-21, 19-21, 15-10, while Adamson University’s Jefferson Marapol and Evander Novillo recorded a quick 21-11, 21-6 victory over UP Integrated School’s Brett Borja and Miguel Castro.
The Baby Tamaraws and the Baby Falcons improved to 2-1 to force a three-way tie in second place along with the Blue Eaglets.
NSNU entered the win column as Jann Mark Pijo and Reymart Reyes fashioned a narrow 21-14, 16-21, 16-14 decision over UE’s Francis Babon and JM Apolinario. The Bullpups and the Junior Warriors are now tied with the Junior Green Spikers at 1-2 in fifth spot.
The Junior Maroons remained winless in three matches.
