UST scores three new recruits — including ‘two-and-through’ John Abate

Former Spring Hill College guard John Abate will suit up for the next two years with the Growling Tigers as a masters student-athlete.

Abate, who stands at 6-foot-1, is the biological son of former PBA pro John Arigo.

Arigo played in the PBA from 2001-2009.

Besides being a basketball player, he was also part of the Badgers’ track and field team, competing in the high jump event.

Meanwhile, Ice Danting, a former member of Ateneo’s Glory Be, and Jason Suba, who previously played for Kean University.

Both Danting and Sub will be eligible for UAAP Season 87.

Promising is UST’s Season 87 lineup as it will also have the likes of Rhayyan Amsali, Kyle Paranada, Ashon Andrews, Geremy Robinson, and Leland Estacio.
