UST-La Salle rematch to close out UAAP Collegiate Volleyball elims

The UAAP released the full schedule of the Season 86 Women’s Volleyball Tournament’s second round on Thursday, featuring a highly anticipated rematch between the still-unbeaten University of Santo Tomas and defending champion De La Salle University.

This showdown is set to take place on April 27 at the SMART Araneta Coliseum, concluding the eliminations.

This lone play date in the elimination round will feature split tickets, with the University of the Philippines and University of the East clashing in the 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. matches respectively.

The men’s game will precede the women’s matches, mirroring the schedule of the first round.

At 4 p.m., the Golden Spikers will face off against the Green Spikers, followed by the rematch between UST and La Salle in the women’s division at 6 p.m., serving as the final game before the Final Four.

Unlike the first round, where matches were exclusively held at the SM Mall of Asia Arena and the Big Dome, the UAAP has expanded its venues to include the Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Manila and the Philsports Arena in Pasig, each hosting one play date.

Additionally, games have been scheduled for April 4 (Thursday) and April 9 (Tuesday), diverging from the typical Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday schedule.

The rematch of last year’s Finals between La Salle and National University is set for April 14, Sunday, at the bayside Pasay venue.
