UST High’s Lloyd Oliva, USJ-R’s Dilcer Gaviola commit to Letran

While its sister school is struggling with departures, Letran is gaining more assets.

The Knights have added University of Santo Tomas High’s Lloyd Oliva and University of San Jose-Recoletos’ Dilcer Gaviola.

Oliva, who is fresh out of high school, is an old school post-up big who stands at 6-foot-5. In his senior year, he averaged 3.1 points and 3.3 rebounds in 12 games played.

The young Oliva would have been a great addition to UST, which has lost seven of its student-athletes from last season.

On the other hand, Gaviola is a 6-foot-1 swingman who helped steer USJ-R to the 2019 CESAFI Partner’s Cup.

The two will join Chiang Kai Shek’s Rafael Go; National University’s Jeff Mailim and Jimly Lantaya; and Perpetual’s Yuki Kawamura as the fresh-out-of-high-school recruits of Letran in the off-season. All are eligible to play come NCAA Season 96.
