UST High’s Bismarck Lina commits to UP

The exodus continues for University of Santo Tomas.

After a week of pondering, Bismarck Lina — who committed to UST last February 20 — has decided to move to University of the Philippines.

The commitment will be formalized later at 3:00PM.

“‘Yung buong family ko sa UST nag-aral, kaya hindi naging madali ang desisyon ko,” shared the 19-year-old, who’s the cousin of Kevin Ferrer.

The 6-foot-5 big man, who was part of the All-UAAP Season 81 team, only played in the second round of Season 82. Despite that, he still put up norms of 16.6 points on 54.7 percent shooting and 10.9 rebounds per game.

One of the key points of the meeting later is when the Fighting Maroons will line up Lina.

Sources have told Tiebreaker Times that UST and UP have come to terms that will allow the latter to play Lina as early as Season 83.

Lina is the eighth player to leave UST.

CJ Cansino transferred to UP; Rhenz Abando, Ira Battaler and Brent Paraiso moved to Letran; Mark Nonoy and Deo Cuajao went to La Salle; and Jun Asuncion left for Mapua.
