After ‘politely declining’ the first of three meetings, University of Santo Tomas has been urged to submit its final report on the Bicol bubble case, as well as attend the final Zoom meeting.
This according to the statement of University Athletic Association of the Philippines executive director Rebo Saguisag, as the final meeting between all parties takes place on Tuesday, September 1.
“A member of the committee will be asked to submit the report and attend a meeting with the Commission on Higher Education, Philippine Sports Commission, Department of Health, and Games and Amusement Board,” read Atty. Saguisag’s statement.
UST’s highest officials only learned of the alleged Growling Tigers training camp in Sorsogon last Sunday — five days after former skipper CJ Cansino was kicked off the team.
Officials from DOH, PSC, GAB, and UAAP met over Zoom last Monday to talk about it. Another meeting took place with CHED on Wednesday afternoon.
But on both occasions, the school “politely declined” the invitations.
The UAAP is represented by Saguisag and Season 83 president Nonong Calanog of La Salle.
UST’s investigation is expected to end Thursday afternoon at the earliest.
“The fact-finding committee is wrapping up their investigation and will be forwarding the result to the Rector’s office tomorrow.”
But it won’t be final, as any of the involved parties can make an appeal with D-Day being on Tuesday.
