UST dominates UE in second day opening

Fresh from their first day victory against De La Salle University’s Green Tennisters, the UST Golden Tennisters were filled with confidence as they once again come out of their match with a victory at the cause of the UE squad.

Pulling off a stunning 4-1 victory, the UST-based squad wasted no time in asserting their dominance. Singles player Francis Lanzado led the attack as he bounces back from a first set loss to finish off UE’s Joshua Kinaadman 2-6, 6-2, 6-2. Flanking his charge were his singles comrades Bernanlou Bering and Francisco Santos who finished of UE’s Rodolfo Barquin and Paolo Baran 6-3, 6-3 and 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 respectively.

One the doubles side, the duo of Potutan and Bering also dispatches their assignment, UE’s duo of Saga and Estanio, in a 6-3, 6-1 match. UST 2nd duo, Cabusas and Patiño, however suffers a hiccup as they both fail to sustain their team’s dominance as they fall to UE’s Menrado Soriano and Jeleardo Amazona in a close 6-7, 4-6 match up with UE denying UST the first sweep of the season.

The 2nd day brings UST to a total of two wins and with no loss while UE currently stands with zero wins and two losses with the first loss delivered by reigning Tennis champion National University.
