Duquilla was able to get a small 8 – 6 lead over her opponent to start the game. Despite efforts to take the lead by Vizmonte, Duquilla would be able to hold fast and earn her victory 21 – 16. The 2nd set saw Duquilla go on a 9 – 2 run at the start. Vizmonte was never able to recuperate, giving Duquilla the victory, 21 – 16.

Pomar was able to get a 13 – 8 lead over Macalino, but 5 consecutive points from the lady from UST was able to tie the game. Macalino used this momentum to gain the lead, and the victory, 17 – 21. The 2nd set was just as tight as the first. With the score tied at 10 all, Macalino was able to go on a 6 – 1 run that finally gave her an advantage over her opponent. Pomar would never be able to catch up as she would lose, 18 – 21.

Down 7 – 10, 5 straight points from Pomar was able to give FEU the lead in the 1st set. However, a 10 – 3 run from UST would allow them to catch up and take the win, 15 – 21. Just like the first set, FEU had the lead with a score of 16 – 15 thanks to 4 successive points from Tudtud. This was countered with 3 straight points from Aquino that gave UST the lead that they would not relinquish. They would go on to win 19 – 21.

The first set was tight with a 13 all tie that was broken by 4 points from Macalino. Duquilla would eventually counter with 7 straight points that would give her team the victory, 21 – 18.UST would have a small 4 – 6 lead over their opponents that they would lose due to 7 consecutive points from Rivera. 4 points from Gaspar would bring the lead down to 1, but FEU would not relinquish the lead as they would go on to win, 21 – 16.

The 3rd singles would be the most intense match of the day, as this would be the deciding factor over which team would take the victory. The atmosphere in the gym was so intense that even remnants of the DLSU and UP squads stayed to witness the pivotal match. The 1st set was close all throughout. With the score tied at 17 all, Barredo would take the lead by scoring 3 straight points. She would go on to win the set, 18 – 21. Tudtud start the 2nd set invigorated by the loud cheering from her teammates. She would begin with a 7 – 3 lead that would quickly balloon to 16 – 8. Looking fatigued, Barredo would not be able to catch up, giving Tudtud the victory, 21 – 13. Barredo would start the 3rd set on fire, outscoring her opponent 10 – 3 at the beginning. Exhaustion would slow her down, as Tudtud, fueled by the encouragement of her teammates, would get the lead down to 2 with a score of 17 – 19. Barredo would pull herself together and give one last thrust and take the final 2 points she needed to secure the victory. Barredo’s 17 – 21 win would give UST the victory.
