UST adds 6-7 Malian big Tounkara to FSA pool

University of Santo Tomas continues to beef up its roster for UAAP Season 86.

Mohamed Tounkara, a 6-foot-7 center from Mali, has enrolled in UST and was presented to Institute of Physical Education and Athletics director Fr. Rodel S. Cansancio, OP. on Monday.

Current Tiger Cubs head coach Jinino Manansala was the one who recruited Tounkara.

Tounkara arrived in the country on Sunday evening.

Tounkara is just 19 years old and has played in numerous FIBA 3×3-sanctioned tournaments in Mali.

He joins Willie Wilson as the foreign student-athletes of the Growling Tigers.

Like Wilson, Tounkara will have to sit out one year before being eligible in the UAAP.
