The Rivero family continued to give back to the frontliners in Isabela last Monday.
This time around, the Riveros, led by University of the Philippines guard Ricci and dad and Nazareth School of National University assistant coach Paolo, distributed personal protective equipment and goods to the medical workers of Isabela United Doctors Medical Center and Southern Isabela Medical Center.
This was Ricci’s way of sharing his blessings in this trying time.
“Hangga’t mayroon puwedeng matulungan at hangga’t mayroon akong maitutulong, tuluy-tuloy lang po kami ng family ko sa pagbigay ng support. Wala pong maliit at malaki na tulong at this point. Ang importante po ay ‘yung magdamayan tayong lahat,” said the UAAP Season 79 champion in men’s basketball.
The PPEs were ordered from authorized manufacturer, Jersey Haven. On the other hand, Ricci’s sponsors Gatorade and Pepsi donated boxes of refreshments as well, while Betadine and UP backer Robina Pe also contributed to the cause.
But it was not just Ricci who did his part as, according to Coach Paolo, even the youngsters of the siblings chipped in as well.
“Basta for us ni Abi, it feels great na maka tulong kami sa mga taga-Isabela since dito lumaki ang mga bata. Sobrang happy kami na nakikita din na ‘yung mga anak namin happy rin na tumutulong sa kapwa nila,” expressed Paolo. “Like ‘yung ibang pinangbili namin ng delata, noodles, at bigas ay galing sa savings nilang magkakapatid — not just the big boys [Rasheed, Ricci, and Prince] pero pati sina Gelo, Allen, Ashton, and Riley nag-contribute din.
“We just pray na sana matapos na ito na safe tayo lahat and kasi ang hirap din na makita mga kababayan namin na nahihirapan.”
Relief goods were also distributed by the family in vulnerable parts of the province.
