UP taps Godfrey Okumu as Lady Maroons coach

After parting ways with Jerry Yee nearly two months ago, the University of the Philippines Lady Maroons have officially announced Kenyan Godfrey Okumu as their next head coach.

Through a presscon at the UP Microtel earlier today, the Lady Maroons’ main backer United Auctioneers Inc. presented the internationally-decorated mentor.

Okumu is an FIVB Level 3 coach with stints as head coach with the Hataka Girls High School and the Oita Miyoshi Wieisse Adler Professional Men’s team. He was also a part of the Kenyan Women’s National Team coaching staff that campaigned in the 2006 and 2010 World Championships, and 2011 and 2015 World Cup.
