MMA fans rejoice as the premiere MMA league finally sets foot in Philippine soil. UFC has held The event will be held on the Mall of Asia Arena on May 16.
UFC Asia General Manager, Ken Berger had this to say about the event.
“We are thrilled to be kicking off our Asia series in Manila this year. The UFC has a loyal and passionate fan base in the Philippines and we’re looking forward to bringing the very best of mixed martial arts to Manila for the first time. We have found a great event partner in SM Lifestyle Entertainment inc. and are excited that the SM Mall of Asia Arena will be home to a historic UFC event that fans will remember for years to come”
The fight card is not yet available as they are still finalizing the competitors who will be participating. Many believe that Filipino fighters under the UFC will be featured in the event. The most notable Pinoy fighter in the UFC is Mark Munoz, “The Filipino Wrecking Machine”, who was rumored to headline a UFC event in 2014 that didn’t push through. The Fight Night on May 16 could make that rumor a reality.
Ticket prices, as well as the fight cards will be made available in March.
