The Adamson University Soaring Falcons kept pace in the heated race for the fourth seed, sweeping the University of the East Red Warriors, 25-20, 25-17, 25-15, at the FilOil Flying V Centre.
The Falcons put their hat in a four-way tie at 3-5 with UST, UP, and DLSU.
Adamson made short work of the Red Warriors, dominating through dynamic offense. Adamson stacked 47 attack points on UE, who only had 21 spikes.
Leo Miranda topped three Falcons in double-digits with 12 points, while JP Yude and Pao Pablico managed 11 markers each.
“Sinabi nga namin sa players na sobrang importante na manalo kami ng sunod-sunod ngayon kasi kaya pa namin humabol sa standings, hindi kami malayo sa mga nasa taas,” said Adamson head coach Domingo Custodio.
“May mga games kami noong first round na dumidikit kami tapos bibitaw noong dulo. Ngayon, sana maipanalo na namin ‘yung mga ganoon,” the grizzled mentor added.
Kim Adriano and Maric Balquierda led the Warriors with seven points apiece.
The Soaring Falcons next play on Wednesday at the FilOil Flying V Centre, taking on defending champions Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles(7-1). The Warriors (0-8) face the the University of Santo Tomas Tiger Spikers on March 18.
