UAAP POW Kacey Dela Rosa proves that enjoying the game equals winning

Kacey Dela Rosa is on pace for another MVP year, delivering an outstanding performance for Ateneo de Manila University that earned her the Collegiate Press Corps (CPC) UAAP Women’s Player of the Week honors presented by the Philippine Sports Commission for the period of October 26 to 30.

With her remarkable contributions in recent games, Dela Rosa not only led the Blue Eagles to crucial victories but also reaffirmed her position as one of the league’s premier players as they edge closer to a Final Four berth.

In the past week alone, the Blue Eagles superstar averaged an impressive 28.0 points, 17.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 3.5 steals, and 2.5 blocks, significantly contributing to her team’s victories over the Lady Archers and Fighting Maroons.

In a standout performance against La Salle, Dela Rosa recorded 28 points, 16 rebounds, and five steals. She followed that with another stellar outing against UP, where she posted 28 points, 19 rebounds, two assists, two steals, and five blocks.

“Always sinasabi ni coach samin ‘yung enjoy the game. Kasi kung ine-enjoy mo ‘yung paglalaro ng basketball parang malalabas mo ‘yung totoong laro mo,” said the 6-foot fortress.

Dela Rosa’s exceptional performances helped her surpass Adamson’s Elaine Etang, NU’s Camille Clarin, and UST’s Amby Amos for her second weekly top player recognition of the season.
