De La Salle University secured a comprehensive 4-0 victory over Adamson University on Thursday night in the UAAP Season 86 Men’s Football Tournament at the UP Football Stadium.
Isaac Anoh, Stephen del Rosario, Christian Peñalosa, and Mo Amohjili all found the scoresheet as the Green Booters improved to 12 points.
Following University of Santo Tomas’ 4-0 triumph over University of the East earlier, De La Salle remained just one point off the No. 4 spot with four matches remaining in the eliminations.
“The feeling of winning a game is very important for them. We need to remind them because we’ve had drawn games, we’ve lost games, leading towards the second round,” said coach Alvin Ocampo.
“So they need to experience the feeling of winning again, especially since we’re going up against UP this Sunday, and we need to perform better than we did against them before.”
The Green Booters, who bounced back from a loss to the Golden Booters to start the second round, hope to maintain a sense of urgency at this stage of the season.
“I had to pressure them to win because we’re aiming for a Final Four spot, and we’re still in the fifth position right now. We’re trying to push our team into the finals, and we have four games to go,” said Ocampo.
“Tomorrow we have to prepare, no breaks for them, yes we have to recover, but we only have two days to recover against UP.”
The Falcons remained in last place with two points.
