Tots Carlos back in form for Creamline’s title drive

Tots Carlos is back, and she’s better than ever.

Now fully recovered from a knee injury, the veteran opposite has rediscovered her lethal form. She provided steady firepower that helped the Creamline Cool Smashers extend their winning streak and solidify their hold atop the 2026 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference standings.

Carlos opened the week with a dominating 19-point, 13-dig performance in Creamline’s four-set victory over the Galeries Tower Highrisers, 25-14, 17-25, 25-18, 25-23, last Tuesday at the FilOil Centre. She followed it up with another stellar showing against Nxled, scoring 16 points and 13 digs in a thrilling five-set triumph, 25-16, 22-25, 25-21, 15-25, 15-10, on Saturday.

Her remarkable performances earned her the PVL Press Corps Player of the Week award, presented by Pilipinas Live, for the week of March 3 to 7.

“I would say na mas gumaan na ‘yung feeling kasi ‘yun nga, grateful ako kay Coach na binigyan nila ako ng time na maka-recover. Alam naman ni Coach na ‘pag okay na ako, babalik ako. Masaya lang ako na may ganong klaseng support,” said Carlos, reflecting on her return to form.

The three-time PVL Most Valuable Player also welcomed the intensity of the five-set battle against Nxled, noting how much she missed competing under pressure.

“It was exciting also, kasi it’s been a while since I experienced yung ganong experience din, so natutuwa ako na na-experience ko siya ulit. Magkakasama kami na talagang nilaban namin lahat,” she said.

Despite the emotions that come with tight matches, Carlos emphasized the importance of composure — a principle Creamline has consistently championed throughout the tournament.

“Ako personally, meron akong sariling goal and sariling reason going to the game. Natuwa ako na na-experience namin ‘yung ganong scenario kasi nga, sila coach, laging sinasabi na ‘pag sumobra naman kami sa gigil, hindi makakatulong sa amin. Composure lang talaga, and ‘yun nga, trabaho lang,” she added.

The 27-year-old spiker edged teammates Jema Galanza, PLDT’s Savi Davison, Choco Mucho’s Sisi Rondina, Cignal’s Vanie Gandler, and Akari’s Ivy Lacsina for the weekly citation handed out by reporters covering the professional league organized by Sports Vision.

Carlos and the Cool Smashers will aim to keep their momentum alive when they take on the Akari Chargers on Thursday, March 12. The match will be streamed live and on demand via the Pilipinas Live app and on www.pvl.ph.
