Juami Tiongson and Andreas Cahilig are set to take the next step in their careers.
Terrafirma has traded the long-time Dyip duo to San Miguel in exchange for Terrence Romeo and Vic Manuel, a move officially announced by the league on Monday afternoon.
Tiongson, a steady presence for Terrafirma, joined the Dyip in August 2019 following a trade with NorthPort.
Cahilig, known for his versatility on both ends of the court, was drafted by the Dyip in 2017.
Now, the pair will bring youthful energy and fresh legs to the Beermen’s roster as San Miguel looks to strengthen its lineup.
In return, Terrafirma gains two seasoned veterans in Romeo and Manuel.
Romeo was traded to San Miguel from TNT on December 17, 2018, with the Beermen sending Brian Heruela, big man David Semerad, and their 2020 first-round draft pick to TNT.
Romeo, 33, won three championships with San Miguel during his tenure.
The trade also reunites Romeo with his former GlobalPort backcourt partner, Stanley Pringle, who was acquired by Terrafirma from Ginebra along with Christian Standhardinger in exchange for Stephen Holt and Isaac Go last July.
Meanwhile, Manuel’s arrival pairs him with Christian Standhardinger, creating a formidable duo in the frontcourt.
Manuel joined San Miguel on November 5, 2021, in a one-on-one trade with NorthPort for Arwind Santos.
Manuel, whose contract is set to expire after this conference, has won two titles with San Miguel.
