San Miguel has made it known that Terrence Romeo is part of their plans moving forward.
The PBA’s winningest franchise recently gave the former three-time scoring champion a fresh three-year extension, which Romeo then happily accepted by signing above the line.
And the 28-year-old guard out of Far Eastern University is truly grateful for the opportunity.
“Nag-sign ako ng three-year extension sa San Miguel. Pinapirma ako nina boss RSA (Ramon S. Ang), boss Al [Chua], at boss Robert [Non] ng bagong kontrata kaya sobrang thankful ako sa kanila.”
Romeo couldn’t help but look back on the ups and downs of his career. He even almost called it quits once, before the Beermen came in and gave meaning to his career once again.
Romeo arrived at SMB prior to the start of the season from a trade with TNT KaTropa following a reported falling-out with the latter. Since then, he’s tasted two PBA championships.
“Akala ko ‘yung career ko dati, talagang maaga na ‘ko magre-retire sa mga nangyayaring ups and downs. Pero ‘yun, binuhay nila ‘yung career ko ulit,” said the native of Imus, Cavite.
And now, Romeo plans to repay the trust of San Miguel by doing his best in every given opportunity.
“Gusto kong suklian’ yun. Gusto ko every game makatukong ako sa team sa kahit na papaanong paraan,” he said.
“Focus lang ako, kailangan bigay ko lang ‘yung best ko para masuklian ko sila.”
