Terrence Romeo is already in the PBA semi-bubble.
San Miguel head coach Leo Austria disclosed that the star guard has returned to Pampanga, an indication that his return to action is on the horizon.
“Terrence is already here in the hotel,” he said after the Beermen’s Game One win over NorthPort in the 2021 Honda Philippine Cup quarterfinals, Sunday.
The 29-year-old left for Manila to have his Achilles tendon thoroughly checked. He suffered an injury during their win over Phoenix last September 17.
Fortunately, further scans showed that the said ligament was all intact, although there remained a bit of pain on his right foot.
But apparently, Romeo is all clear to play as he’s back in Pampanga. And Austria and Co. can’t wait to have him back in the fold.
For now, though, the former Far Eastern University star is still clearing quarantine protocols before he can rejoin the Beermen.
“He needs two days of quarantine. Hopefully, next game makapag-practice na siya o next practices namin,” Austria said.
SMB has just welcomed back Alex Cabagnot, who quickly brought impact in his return by drilling the game-winner to sink the Batang Pier.
“Just in time, nakabalik ‘yung isa sa kanila. Hopefully, makabalik din ‘yung isa, magsabay,” said the multiple-time Coach of the Year.
