For the second straight PBA Rookie Draft, Terrafirma will technically have two first overall picks.
The PBA Board of Governors have finalized the order of the special Gilas round, which sees the Dyip pick first.
NorthPort will pick at no. 2, while NLEX – who got the third overall pick from Blackwater – will pick last.
Jaydee Tungcab, Jordan Heading, and Tzaddy Rangel are the three available players for the round.
The league’s other plan for the Gilas round was for the teams not able to pick in the Gilas round of 2019 to select this time around. This would have meant that NorthPort going at one followed by Magnolia and San Miguel. The idea though was nixed.
Back in 2019, Isaac Go was the top overall selection by the then-Columbian Dyip. Rey Suerte went to Blackwater; Matt Nieto was picked by NLEX; Allyn Bulanadi saw himself selected by Alaska; and Mike Nieto was nabbed by Rain or Shine.
Tungcab, Heading, and Rangel will join the original Gilas quintet in every national team pool – including the PBA’s plan to have Gilas serve as a guest team for the upcoming 2021 Philippine Cup.
