TBT’s Justine Bacnis makes history with back-to-back PBA Shooting Stars wins

Tiebreaker Times’ Justine Bacnis made PBA All-Star history on Sunday, becoming the first player to win back-to-back championships in the league’s Shooting Stars event at Candon City Arena.

Team Blue—comprising Bacnis, Rain or Shine’s Adrian Nocum, Cabugao councilor Michael Sarmento, TV5 courtside reporter and Southeast Asian Games gold medalist Jamie Lim, and fan Rexor Burgos—clinched the title by being the fastest to sink a shot in the fifth zone.

Bacnis nailed a three-pointer with 1:07.5 remaining on the clock.

No team managed to make the halfcourt shot.

Team White—featuring Meralco’s CJ Cansino, San Juan mayor Francis Zamora, Inquirer’s Jonas Terrado, Apple David, and fan Erwin Garzon—hit the fifth-zone shot with 22.8 seconds remaining, while Team Black, consisting of NLEX’s JB Bahio, Nagbukel mayor Randolf Cabrera, Spin.ph’s Reuben Terrado, Niesa Ren Farinas, and fan Efren Fuentes, made it with just 6.1 seconds left.

Bacnis had previously won the event in 2024 in Bacolod alongside Denise Tan, Councilor Al Victor Espino, and fan Christoffer Octario.
