Taulava replaces Slaughter as South All-Star team starter

Asi Taulava is set to make his 14th All Star Team appearance as a starter.

With three-time All Star Greg Slaughter of Barangay Ginebra San Miguel out for the rest of the 2016 PBA Governors Cup, as he is recovering from right ankle surgery, the league has replaced the 27-year-old starter with Taulava.

Taulava currently averages 14.9 points and 10.8 rebounds this season. At 43 years old, the Fil-Tongan breaks his own record as the oldest all-star in the league’s history.

Joining the big man in the South All Stars as starters are James Yap, Scottie Thompson, June Mar Fajardo, and Joe Devance. Rounding up the team are JR Quinahan, Jeff Chan, Jericho Cruz, Chris Ross, Mark Barroca, RR Garcia, and Carlo Lastimosa.
