Tai Bundit ushers in ‘Happy-Happy’ era for Adamson Lady Falcons

A familiar aura in the collegiate ranks emanated inside the FilOil Flying V Centre, Sunday afternoon.

In the 2019 PVL Collegiate Conference, fans could hear the Adamson University Lady Falcons shouting chants of ‘happy-happy’ and ‘heartstrong’ against the San Sebastian College–Recoletos Lady Stags.

The way the Lady Falcons were performing could only be attributed to one person: the former Ateneo chief tactician Tai Bundit. He was also in attendance, overseeing the youthful team from the sidelines.

The system of the Thai mentor – which produced several titles for the Lady Eagles in the UAAP – immediately had an impact for the rookie-laden Lady Falcons, who meditated during breaks of a straight-set whipping of San Sebastian.

Safe to say, Bundit has ushered in a new era for the San Marcelino-based squad.

Still, despite showing visible signs of Bundit’s mantra, Adamson head coach Lerma Giron knows that changes in the team’s system won’t happen overnight.

“Walang pagbabagong biglaan. Walang overnight lang. Sa ngayon, nandoon kami sa phase na transition na ina-adapt namin, adaptation period,” she confided.

“Pero as much as possible, we’re trying to adapt at sumabay sa tinuturo, sa sistema, sa principle.”

The multi-titled bench strategist, who also works at the helm of PVL titans Creamline, started his mentorship for Adamson last Saturday.

So far, rookie playmaker Louie Romero and the rest of the Lady Falcons are delighted to be under the spell of Bundit’s jovial philosophy.

“Okay lang po kasi noong nakaraang linggo pa lang po, prinepare na kami ng mga coaches,” the Adamson freshman bared.

“Masaya po.”
