In their toughest game of the season so far, Jason Brickman and Kaohsiung took a thrilling 100-98 win over New Taipei in the 2021-22 T1 League season, Sunday at Kaohsiung Arena.
With the game tied at 98 with 3.3 seconds left, Ferrakohn Hall missed on a line trey. Fortunately for the Aquas, Mindaugas Kupšas was there to clean up the miss with a buzzer-beating putback to escape with the win.
Kupsas ended up with 19 points, 23 rebounds, and four blocks, lifting Kaohsiung to a 16-5 record — three full games ahead of New Taipei for pole position.
Jason Brickman was once again sensational, putting up 18 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the field with 13 assists.
Besides the duo, four other Aquas scored in double figures.
Hall got 17 points and eight rebounds; Yu Huanya finished with 16 points on four treys; Xavier Alexander produced 15 points; while Hu Longmao chipped in 10 points.
It was a tough loss for CTBC DEA, who relied on its three-headed beast in the contest.
Mohammad Al Bachir Gadiaga led the way with 29 points, four rebounds, three assists, and three steals.
Aaron Epps also got 29 points to go along with 12 rebounds and two steals while Marlon Johnson added 27 points and 13 rebounds in a no relief outing.
Brickman and Kaohsiung will next face Taiwan Beer on March 26 still at Kaohsiung Arena.
