T1: Brickman’s scoring spree continues, leads Kaohsiung to sixth win

Jason Brickman continued to prove that he is more than just an assist man.

Brickman dropped 25 points in Kaohsiung Familymart’s most impressive win so far in the 2021-22 T1 League season, a 126-95 rout of Tainan TSG, Sunday at Chia Nan University of Pharmacy and Science Shao Tsung Gymnasium.

The 6-foot Filipino-American floor general shot 10-of-14 from the field — including 4-of-8 from distance — with eight assists, six steals, and five rebounds.

Along with Xavier Alexander and Hu Longmao, the trio powered the Aquas to a 6-1 slate to remain on top of the upstart league.

The Aquas pushed the pedal in the second frame, dropping a whopping 34 points to gain a 61-50 lead at the half.

Kaohsiung continued its surge in the last two quarters, scoring 33 and 32 points, respectively, to overwhelm the Ghosthawks.

All in all, the Aquas shot 54.65-percent from the field while knocking down 13 treys in the contest. Tainan, meanwhile, went just 41.67-percent on the floor.

Former ASEAN Basketball League World Import MVP Alexander added 26 points and nine rebounds while Hu added 23 points and 11 rebounds. Mindaugas Kupšas chipped in 12 points and eight rebounds.

Will Artino was the high-point man for the 2-4 Tainan, finishing with 33 points and 12 rebounds. Charles Garcia got 24 points and eight rebounds as well, going 12-of-13 from the foul line.

Up next for Brickman and Kaohsiung are the New Taipei CTBC DEA on Saturday.
