T1: Brickman’s all-around line goes for naught as Taiwan Beer stuns Kaohsiung in OT

Jason Brickman and Kaohsiung suffered a heartbreaker at University of Taipei, Tianmu Campus Gymnasium on Saturday, falling short in a 125-131 overtime loss to Taiwan Beer in the 2021-22 T1 League season.

A huge triple by Yu Huanya with 22.48 seconds left in regulation gave the Aquas a 113-111 lead. However, Lee Chiwei stepped up on the other end, tying the game with nine seconds remaining.

Brickman had one last but missed sending the game into overtime.

Taiwan Beer broke away in overtime as Doral Moore and Ramon Galloway connived to give their side a 121-118 lead.

An and-one by Galloway with 1:35 left gave the Hero Bears a 127-120 cushion as the Aquas went cold in the endgame.

Galloway ended up with 33 points on 14-of-17 shooting from the field with five rebounds and six steals. Chiang Yuan also had 33 points and 12 assists, playing 51 minutes in the contest.

Diamond Stone tallied a double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds

Kaohsiung lost for only the fourth time this season, going down to 11-4 — still at solo first. Taiwan Beer, meanwhile, went up to 10-6, creating a half-a-game separation for third against Taichung Wagor.

Brickman led Kaohsiung with 25 points, 16 assists, eight rebounds, and six steals.

Yu Huanya got 23 points built on seven treys. Meanwhile, Hu Longmao and Mindaugas Kupšas both had 22 points with the latter also grabbing 20 rebounds.

Up next for Kaohsiung is Taichung on Monday.
