Strong Group has reaffirmed its commitment to University of the East, pledging to support the Lady Warriors until the end of its contract after UAAP Season 87.
This comes despite the impending transfers of Casiey Dongallo, Jelai Gajero, Kizzie Madriaga, Shamel Fernandez, and Jenalyn Umayam to University of the Philippines.
Jacob Lao, president of Strong Group Athletics, emphasized the organization’s dedication to fulfilling its obligations to UE.
“We remain committed to honoring our promise to UE, particularly in supporting their women’s volleyball program,” Lao said in a statement on SGAthletics.com.
In addition to their volleyball commitment, Strong Group Athletics will continue backing the UE high school basketball program through UAAP Season 88, marking the conclusion of a three-year partnership.
This follows the Junior Warriors’ historic triumph in the inaugural UAAP junior high school basketball championship.
With the boys’ basketball tournament set to tip off on January 19, Lao expressed optimism about the Junior Warriors’ future under the leadership of Coach Karl Santos.
“Our promise to UE remains,” Lao affirmed.
“Our goal is not just to build a strong program but to help UE secure championships. The junior high school championship is just the beginning. With Coach Karl Santos guiding the boys’ team, we are confident they will reach the Final Four this season.”
