Standhardinger arrives; Belo, Jalalon return to Gilas practice


6-foot-7 enigma Christian Standhardinger finally attended his first Gilas Pilipinas practice, Wednesday afternoon, to complete the cast for the cadets team that is preparing for the upcoming 2017 William Jones Cup and Southeast Asian Games.

The 27-year-old Filipino-German arrived 10:30pm, Tuesday night. He was welcomed to the Meralco Gym by Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas president Al Panlilio, Gilas team manager Butch Antonio, and coach Chot Reyes.

In addition, making their returns were Jiovani Jalalon, who has just recovered from a case of the flu, and Mac Belo, who had surgery from a torn meniscus.

Also present were Kobe Paras, Matthew Wright, Carl Cruz, Ed Daquioag, Kiefer Ravena, Kevin Ferrer, Mike Tolomia, Raymar Jose, Von Pessumal, Fonzo Gotladera, Ray Parks, and Almond Vosotros.

Mike Myers, the team’s reinforcement for the Jones Cup, completed the 16-man cast.
