Sta. Lucia to rebuild the land in PVL

Mika Reyes is finally set to step foot on a V-League court.

This as Sta. Lucia has bid farewell to the Philippine Superliga to transfer to the Premier Volleyball League.

“We have a little announcement to make: The Sta. Lucia Lady Realtors will be taking on a new challenge as we officially join the Premier Volleyball League today!” read the team’s statement.

“This is something new. This is exciting for the team and the fans.”

Sta. Lucia made its return to Philippine sports after being gone since 2010 back in 2017.

During their stint in the PSL, the highest finish the Lady Realtors notched was fifth place during the 2018 Grand Prix.

In the beach volleyball tournament of the PSL, Sta. Lucia has finished second thrice — including the recently concluded edition of the Challenge Cup last Sunday.

Besides Reyes, also composing Sta. Lucia are the likes of MJ Phillips, Bang Pineda, Djanel Cheng, Rubie De Leon, Pam Lastimosa, Jonah Sabete, Jovy Prado, and Kai Baloaloa.

Sta. Lucia also picked up Aiza Maizo-Pontillas in free agency.

The team’s head coach is Eddieson Orcullo.

On the other hand, the beach volleyball tandem of Jackie Estoquia and DM Demontano will now be mainstays in Beach Volleyball Republic. They can still compete in the PSL Challenge Cup as well.
