Lawrence Wu, Karl Villaflor, and Wowie Evangelista continued their red-hot shooting to lead their respective schools into the knockout semifinals of the Smart Sports Fil-Chinese Athletic Association Inc., presented by Tanduay Athletics, held recently at the Tanduay Gym in Quiapo, Manila.

The sharpshooting Wu teamed up with Jason Pascual and Alvin Chu Teng to propel the Cellboy-backed St. Stephen’s to a 77-63 victory over Alusign 3M Stickers-Grace Christian College, securing a semifinal spot in the 30-39 division on Friday.

Wu poured in 22 points, while Pascual and Teng combined for 26, setting up a semifinal clash with No. 2 seed Xavier School-McDavid x Windsor on April 9.

Villaflor, following his game-high 29 points last week, added 22 more as the Edison Yang and New Fortune Mansion Seafoods Restaurant-backed Chiang Kai Shek College overcame St. Jude Catholic School-Linea Metal Furnishings, 72-65. The win set up a semifinal showdown with top seed Hope Christian High School.

Evangelista, defying Father Time once again, tallied 24 points to lead Hope Christian-Premium Feeds to a 65-57 triumph over St. Jude-Duralite in the 50-and-above division.
