The Blackwater Elite appear to be going all-in for youth.
According to multiple sources closely monitoring the situation, Paul Zamar is set to be sent to the San Miguel Beermen in exchange for two future picks.
SPIN.ph first reported the development.
The source added that Zamar, who was in line for an extension, did not want to renew his ties with the Elite, resulting in the transaction.
A 31-year-old combo guard who was drafted as the 35th overall pick in the 2012 PBA Draft, Zamar made his return to the league early this year.
Paving the way for his PBA return was his successful stint with ABL club Mono Vampire that saw him post norms of 16.2 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game.
The 5-foot-10 guard averaged 10.14 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.86 assists during the Commissioner’s Cup. In the season-ending conference, he had averages of 9.56 points, 4.44 rebounds, and 1.22 assists per game.
If the deal pushes through, Paul will be reunited with dad Boycie, who was his head coach at UE.
