SOURCES: ONIC PH set to re-sign Dlar; Bennyqt heading to Aura PH

It looks like Gerald “Dlar” Trinchera will be staying with ONIC PH after all.

This, after a whirlwind of events that saw Aura PH release its two long-time players in Kielvj “Kielvj” Hernandez and Renz “Renzio” Cadua while also posting a team photo which clearly included the silhouette of Dlar and Execration’s Benedict “Bennyqt” Gonzales a day after.

Aura PH players Allen “Greed” Baloy and Chan “Raflessia” Fajura also posted on their respective social media accounts welcoming the ONIC PH offlaner.

But contrary to our report earlier this Wednesday of a possible Dlar transfer to Aura PH, Dlar is reportedly going to stay with Aura’s rival team ONIC PH.

One of the sources, though, confirmed that Aura PH is indeed closing in on securing the services of Bennyqt for the league’s seventh season.

“Oo naman I guess lahat ng teams tinitignan si Bennyqt ngayon he’s really good actually. Pero di pa finalized, but malapit na,” said a source, who requested anonymity.

With Dlar out of the equation, the source added that a player from another MPL team is bound to join Bennyqt with Aura PH in the coming days.

“He was never mentioned by the analysts of MPL [who are trying to guess the additions], hindi siya mahula-hulaan. I think underrated kasi talaga yung bata kaya hindi siya na-mention,” the source added.

Expect also a drastic change of roles in the coming season for Aura PH as they aim to bounce back after a disappointing quarterfinals exit this Season Six, seeing their three-peat aspirations turn to dust.
