Kai Sotto and Adelaide could not complete a hattrick in their tour of the United States, dropping a 98-131 rout at the hands of 36ers alum Josh Giddey and Oklahoma City to close out their NBLxNBA preseason campaign, Friday morning (Manila time) at Paycom Center.
Sotto, who scored in double-figures against Phoenix early this week, was held scoreless by the Thunder, missing all three of his field goal attempts. He still grabbed four rebounds in eight minutes of play.
Giddey, meanwhile, made sure to school his former team, tallying 10 points, six assists, and five rebounds.
The Thunder struck early, going on a 27-9 start and never looked back.
The Oklahoma City lead went to as high as 40 points, 108-68, after a Darius Baszley three late in the third canto.
Terrence Mann led the Thunder with 26 points on 8-of-10 shooting from the field. Lindy Waters III added 23 points built on six treys.
Big man Robert Franks paced Adelaide with 20 points and seven rebounds while Craig Randall II got 27 markers with eight assists.
Antonius Cleveland also pumped 19 points.
Adelaide heads back home to face Tasmania to start its NBL season on Thursday.
