Snow Peñaranda, SM Supermarket finally overcome Ever Bilena in MelMac Cup

The women’s division of the 2019 Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3×3 MelMac Cup finals pitted familiar foes Ever Bilena and SM Hypermarket (formerly called Blackwater), but the latter came through for the first time to bag the title, 21-18 (8:15).

SM’s Snow Peñaranda put on a show on the offensive end by tallying eight points, highlighted by a personal 5-0 run to start the game that is also presented by Gold’s Gym and Coca-Cola.

“Talagang ginusto namin manalo kasi may support na kami ng SM,” said Penaranda, a product of La Salle. “At least ngayon natalo na namin yung Ever Bilena.”

Eunique Chan then hit a two from the corner to make it a 7-0 advantage.

However, Chack Cabinbin delivered the final blow by making a line-drive two-pointer to end the battle with 1:45 left to help give her team the Php20,000 prize.

Sharpshooter Ria Nabalan led Ever Bilena in a losing effort with 10 markers, as her team became Php10,000 richer.

The Scores:

SM Hypermarket 21 – Penaranda 8, Cabinbin 7, Chan 6.

Ever Bilena 18 – Nabalan 10, Bernardino 8, Deacon 0.
